The traditional Soulet Besombes method, now counts
more than 60 years of experience and recognized results, is part of the gentle
and biological therapies, but is only used by few professionals as it is unknown
and not disclosed by the media which is likely to ignore it.
In the 1950s there was a particularly strong following in France which was
unfortunately supplanted in the ‘60s by the multiband therapy introduced from
America - much more commercial and advocated by multinational manufacturers and
has, over time, become almost a "must" and a "status symbol".
Only recently, thanks to the popularization by Dr. Adriano Montorsi - and given
the “relapse frequency” of orthodontics (approximately 85%) and its many side
effects, immediate or in years to follow (scoliosis, cervical headaches injury
prone athletes, etc.) - patients have discovered the validity of biological
therapies and are looking for treatments that can, in addition to aesthetics,
lead to an overall improvement in the quality of life.
Dr. Montorsi has taken this method and introduced a series of variants that
increase the effect and shorten the therapy with modifications that engender
previously unthinkable results at the cranial occlusal level.
Since 2005 he
teaches in the Masters of Postural Gnathology and the Masters of Methodological
Specialisations in Posturology at "La Sapienza" University of Rome. In addition
to his didactic activities he is a speaker at numerous Conferences.
In November 2007 the occasion of the "VIII National Congress on
Multi-disciplinary Posture and Occlusion in Rome" saw the presentation of his
book "Beyond the palate, the Soulet-Besombes method" which is also the first
book in the world to specifically discuss this topic.
